About Me
I am Cerys McCreanor BA (Hons), PGCE, MAR, and I am the Clinical Reflexologist at Prospect Therapies.
I first became aware of reflexology 10 years ago when traditional healthcare couldn’t help with my repeated sinus infections and associated difficulties. I benefited greatly with an almost immediate reduction in sinus pain and inflammation and as an added benefit I also realised that I was much more able to cope generally, with reduced tension and considerably lessened hormone related symptoms. I became inspired to become a reflexologist to support others coping with day to day stresses, challenges and health issues.
I trained at the Cheltenham School of Reflexology and received my Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Reflexology.
More recently I have trained in a range of specialised reflexology treatments such as Zone Facelift and Facial Reflexology and am currently training in Reflexology for Fertility and Menopause. I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists. I am fully insured and CRB checked.
What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a gentle, holistic, healing therapy dating back 5,000 years, practised by the Chinese, Indians and Egyptians that aims to restore balance to the body and mind to enable it to heal.
Modern reflexology has been refined to a scientific art based on the idea that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet, face and hands which correspond to all parts of the body. It is a touch therapy applied using the thumbs and fingers to apply pressure to specific points on the feet, hands or face. Each point corresponds with an internal organ, gland or other structure. The pressure allows the release of blocked energy and built up toxins. This in turn improves circulation, encourages lymphatic drainage, releases toxins, stimulates nerve endings and relaxes muscles. This natural, non-invasive holistic therapy brings about deep relaxation, stimulates the body’s own healing processes and helps it to return to a state of balance and wellbeing. This therapy is now being integrated into traditional health care, (included in BUPA insurance) with 80% of palliative care units employing a reflexologist and it is used in many hospitals and health centres across the UK.
What Are The Benefits of Reflexology and how can it help me?
Reflexology can help aid relaxation, improve mood, release tension, enhance sleep and generally raise levels of wellbeing and health.
